24 Brix is a family-owned winery who is committed to the old-world style of wine making. We purchase grapes from all northern and Central California appellations to create our fine wines. We harvest at or close to 24 BRIX, the natural sugar level we feel is the optimal ripeness that dramatically influences the wines quality and flavors. We ferment the grapes with naturally occurring vineyard native yeast, which imparts more complexity and richness to the wine. We started our winery because we wanted to provide a different experience; different grapes, different winemaking style, different blends, and a different level of interaction with our customers. Jeff Runquist produces balanced wines that can be enjoyed in their youth, but will also age and become more complex with time. His wines share a theme of fresh fruit reflective of the varietal flavors inherent in the grape.Jeff selects grapes from vineyards that provide rich full flavors without loads of astringent tannins. Personally, Jeff prefers his wines to have zest and vibrant flavors. “Once I release a new vintage I rarely return to the previous year’s wine. My father likes that; it means more of the older wines for him.
