Thursday Rosary Mysteries: Pray The Luminous Mysteries (1)

Introduction

Welcome to our Thursday Rosary page, where you can join in prayer online. You will find a downloadable version (located at the bottom of this page only for tablet and desktop version) for the Rosary specifically intended for Thursdays. The download is a free Word document that the author began using in 2011 as a Protestant when he started daily Rosary prayers. He continues to use these documents today.

We’ve revamped this page, removing unnecessary content to make it more inviting for anyone, whether you’re new to the Rosary or rediscovering its beauty, to engage in this meaningful prayer on a daily basis.

Secret of the Rosary

Thursday Rosary Mysteries: Pray The Luminous Mysteries (2)

The “Secret of the Rosary” is a book written by St. Louis de Montfort, a Catholic priest and theologian. In this book, St. Louis de Montfort explores the spiritual significance and power of the Rosary, which is a form of prayer in the Catholic tradition.

The “secret” thatSt. Louis de Montfortrefers to is not meant to be a hidden or mysterious knowledge but rather a profound understanding of the Rosary’s transformative impact on the spiritual life of believers. He emphasizes the Rosary as a powerful tool for meditation on the life of Jesus Christ and the Virgin Mary.

St. Louis de Montfort encourages Catholics to pray the Rosary devoutly and with sincerity, believing that it can lead to a deeper connection with God and a more virtuous life. The book provides insights into the history and significance of the Rosary, urging believers to embrace it as a source of grace and spiritual growth.

It is our recommendation to read this book as it has been called “the greatest book on the Rosary ever written.”

Opening Prayers

Queen of the Holy Rosary Prayer

Queen of the Holy Rosary, you have deigned to come to Fatima to reveal to the three shepherd children the treasures of grace hidden in the Rosary. Inspire my heart with a sincere love of this devotion, in order that by meditating on the Mysteries of our Redemption which are recalled in it, I may be enriched with its fruits and obtain peace for the world, the conversion of sinners and of Russia, and the favor which I ask of you in this Rosary.

(Mention your request here)

I ask it for the greater glory of God, for your own honor, and for the good of souls, especially for my own. Amen.

Sign of the Cross

In the Name Of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. (As you say this, with your right hand touch your forehead when you say Father, touch your breastbone when you say Son, touch your left shoulder when you say Holy, and touch your right shoulder when you say Spirit.)

Apostles Creed

I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth; and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord; Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into hell; the third day He arose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven, and sits at the right hand of God, the Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Catholic Church, the communion of Saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body and life everlasting. Amen.

Our Father

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil. Amen

Hail Mary

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Thursday Rosary Mysteries: Pray The Luminous Mysteries (5)

John 2:1-12

And the third day, there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee: the mother of Jesus was there.
Jesus also was invited, and his disciples, to the marriage. And the wine failing, the mother of Jesus saith to him: They have no wine. Jesus saith to her: Woman, what is that to me and to thee? my hour is not yet come. His mother saith to the waiters: Whatsoever he shall say to you, do ye.

Now there were set there six waterpots of stone, according to the manner of the purifying of the Jews, containing two or three measures apiece. Jesus saith to them: Fill the waterpots with water. They filled them up to the brim. And Jesus saith to them: Draw out now, and carry to the chief steward of the feast. And they carried it.

When the chief steward had tasted the water made wine, and knew not whence it was, but the waiters knew who had drawn the water; the chief steward calleth the bridegroom, And saith to him: Every man at first setteth forth good wine, and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse. But thou hast kept the good wine until now.

This beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee; and manifested his glory, and his disciples believed in him. After this he went down to Capharnaum, he and his mother, and his brethren, and his disciples: and they remained there not many days.

Matthew 17:1-9

After six days Jesus taketh unto him Peter and James, and John his brother, and bringeth them up into a high mountain apart: And he was transfigured before them. His face did shine as the sun: and his garments became white as snow. And behold there appeared to them Moses and Elias talking with him. And Peter answering, said to Jesus: Lord, it is good for us to be here: if thou wilt, let us make here three tabernacles, one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias. As he was yet speaking, behold a bright cloud overshadowed them. And lo, a voice out of the cloud, saying: This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased: hear ye him.

And the disciples hearing, fell upon their face, and were very much afraid. Jesus came and touched them: and said to them, Arise, and fear not. And they lifting up their eyes saw no one but only Jesus.

And as they came down from the mountain, Jesus charged them, saying: Tell the vision to no man, till the Son of man be risen from the dead.
